Love of community…from Sarah’s keyboard.
While we love putting on hard events that challenge first-time and seasoned runners alike, we do this other local thing that is pretty amazing.
There is this local non-profit, ConnectAbility, and they do some amazing things for families in our favorite mountain town.
One of the programs is called Race for a Reason and I have been volunteering with them since 2017. Fast forward to 2024 and a documentary being done about one of the families that participate in Race for a Reason. One of the other key volunteers and I were being intereviewed for the documentary. After I was finished, I stayed to see the rest of the interview. Emma’s interview set in motion a chain of events that would lead her to her longest race and a PR for distance in early 2025.
Check out the newsletter article, take a peek at the documentary, and if any of this sounds like something you would like to get involved with, sign up to volunteer on the ConnectAbility website!
It’s truly one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever had the honor to participate in. Do your part to make this world Inclusive as Fuck.
