We are so excited to host the first timed event at Lake Z in Dahlonega!
This trail is a favorite of ours and locals. Known for it’s rocky and rooty sections, steep climbs and descents, with a few runnable sections, it has a little bit of everything.

    Race Reports

Check back after our inaugural race weekend!

      Course Information
      • The course is a 4.63 mile lolipop consisting of steep climbs and descents, runnable ridge lines, and a few water crossings. With only 303 feet of climbing per loop, it should be easy to get 100 miles in 24 hours, right??
      • There will be one fully stocked aid station at the start/finish line with plenty of typical race foods available all day (water, sports drink, pretzels, bananas, oranges, PB&J as well as lots of homemade foods all day).
      • Bathroom facilities will be Port-O-John’s at the start/finish.
      Race Rules
      • No pacers allowed.
      • Headlamps are required for all racers running overnight.  The course has no lights.
      • Please notify event staff if you abandon the race prior to the finish time.
      • There is no credit for partial laps. The distance after last FULL lap completed at the 6, 12, or 24 hour mark will be official finish distance.
      • Race bibs must be worn and be visible at all times.
      • Only laps completed with timing chip will be credited.  Runners are responsible for wearing their timing chips at all times while running.
      Crew Information

All racers are welcome to have crew support.  Crews and runners are welcome to set up along the gravel road between the gate entrance at Hwy 52 and the start/finish line. There will be no power, so come prepared!

      Volunteering and Sweeping

Please contact us for additional information on volunteering and sweeping using the form options at the top of the page.

Volunteers often help with the setup and breakdown of equipment as well as helping runners during the beginning and end of the event.

      Lodging

Dahlonega has a few chain hotels (Holiday Inn Express, Days Inn and Quality Inn). There are a number of local boutique hotels, bed and breakfast inns and homes on VRBO & AirBNB.

      Weather Notes

Weather in this region can range greatly with pop-up storms in the afternoons almost guaranteed. Expect it to be hot and humid. This is Georgia in September, after all.
